Manish Jain takes us on an unlearning journey to India to rediscover how to live with one's ancestry and how to recuperate and honour traditions of radical hospitality.
What an amazing interview!! After listening, my head is spinning with the many ways I have been held hostage by my education and acquiescence to the dominant/capitalistic narrative. Thank you so much Chris for bringing these teachings and inspirations into my life. I've become a subscriber thanks to this interview and am excited to challenge myself to unlearn most of what I have been brainwashed into accepting as norm, and open myself up to new ways of understanding home and hospitality. Many Blessings to both you and Manish!!
Hey Heather! Thank the gods there's some deep provocation in there for you. Generally speaking, the anti/post-development narratives are sorely missing from mainstream resistance discourses, but Manish's work, like that of Gustavo Esteva and others, is extremely important and an important lesson for those in the Global North. I really appreciate your contribution in the spirit of the gift, especially since I refuse to put up paywalls. Notes like this make my day and keep the work alive! Blessings!
